On Sunday, June 9, God spoke in the sacred time of Youth and Children Sunday.
through prayers offered by our children;
through the music played by Sydney Whitney on flute, accompanied by Abby Hise, Matthew Torres on piano and organ, the Joyful Noise Bell Choir and through the music sung by Ava McLean;
through candles lit and offerings collected;
through the Message with Music—a duet performed by Matthew Torres (on trumpet) and his mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Torres (on piano)–entitled “How I Hear God,” that was itself a musical piece composed by Giacomo Puccini, entitled “Nessum dorma,” translated from Italian to mean “None shall sleep”;
through church members and friends who shared aloud how it feels
to be known by God,
to be forgiven by God, and
to be cherished by God;
through all present in the sanctuary who formed a Prayer Circle in the sanctuary and who prayed with gratitude for a God
who knows us,
who forgives us, and
who cherishes us.
On Youth and Children Sunday, God spoke.
